The historic 2016 Chicago Cubs World Series winning season started in Arizona, where the Cubs have held spring training for 63 of the past 64 years. The Cubs World Series opponents, the Cleveland Indians, also started the season spring training in the desert.

 

With modern state-of-art spring training facilities, the Cactus League has produced nine of the previous fourteen World Series participants and five of the past seven World Series Champions. The championship trend shows no signs of letting up as baseball's past three World Champions, the Giants, Royals, and Cubs all started the year in Arizona's Cactus League!
